BMC ProactiveNet uses the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On system to provide single sign-on with authentication of users.

To integrate with single sign-on during BMC ProactiveNet Server installation, BMC Atrium Single Sign-On must be installed and configured before installing BMC ProactiveNet. For full information on installing and configuring BMC Atrium Single Sign-On, see the online technical documentation for BMC Atrium Single Sign-On.

To configure single sign-on postinstallation, or in a BMC ProactiveNet upgrade scenario, use one of the following methods:

After single sign-on is integrated, when you launch BMC ProactiveNet, the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On screen is displayed. Enter your user ID and password and BMC ProactiveNet launches. You have access to all the integrated components and products, without the need to enter credentials again.


  • If you launch BMC ProactiveNet and try to log in as a user who is not associated with a valid user group in BMC Atrium Single Sign-On, BMC ProactiveNet displays an error stating "Invalid username/password".
  • Default settings in the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On server determine BMC ProactiveNet sessions. When the session expires you will receive a message that the connection to the BMC ProactiveNet Server has been lost. You must relaunch BMC ProactiveNet and log in again on the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On screen.
