After configuring the PATROL Data Integration monitoring solution in an XML, you must configure the data collector properties in the bppm3pi.conf file, located in the PATROL_HOME/jconnect/apps/bppm3pi/ directory:

  • java.options—Specify the additional options for the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). For example, memory settings and so on.
  • java.properties—Specify the additional system properties as a space-separated list of properties. For example, java.properties=-D<p1>=<p1val> -D<p2>=<p2val>.
  • logging.level—Specify any of the following logging levels for both, BMC PATROL for Data Integration and JVM. Changes to this configuration are picked up dynamically at runtime.
    • SEVERE
    • WARNING
    • INFO (default)
    • FINE
    • FINER
    • FINEST
    • ALL
  • logging.sow—Specify any of the following values to enable or disable the logging of PATROL system output windows. The default value is 0.
    • 0: disable
    • 1: enable
  • logging.reader.input—Specify any of the following values to enable or disable the logging of I/O between PSL and Java. The default value is 0.
    • 0: disable
    • 1: enable
  • agent.restartOnNewKM—Specify any of the following values to restart the PATROL Agent after new application classes are created: The default value is 1.
    • 0: do not restart automatically
    • 1: restart automatically 
  • logging.count—Specify the number of rolling logs. The default value is 10.

  • logging.limitSpecify the size limit, in MB, of each log file. The default value is 15.

You should not modify the following values of the data collector properties:

  • java.classpath 
  • java.class 
  • java.args
  • psl.handler.max.wait.timeout
  • psl.synchronous.max.runtime
