Running the Migration Advisor Tool on Windows

Warning

Prerequisite

Ensure that you have downloaded the Migration Advisor Tool.

To run the Migration Advisor Tool on Windows

  1. Save the Migration Advisor Tool on the FootPrints 11.6.01 or later in a folder outside the FootPrints install folder.
  2. Extract the contents of the footprints-service-core-migration-advisor-12.x-nn.nn.zip file into this same folder and go to this folder.

  3. Run the setup.cmd file.

    Warning

    Note

    The Migration Advisor Tool displays information in a command prompt window before it displays the wizard's Welcome message. Do not close the command prompt window. The command prompt window closes if you click Cancel or Done on the last screen of the wizard.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Browse and go to the location where FootPrints 11.6.01 or later is installed.

    - C:\FootPrintsServiceCore

    - D:\Footprints

  6. Click Next.

    Success

    Tip

    Note down the estimated time to run the Migration Advisor Tool.

  7. Click Next to start the analysis of the system.

After you run the Migration Advisor Tool, a Migration Advisor Report is created. 
It is saved in the following format, on the same location where FootPrints 11.6.01 or later is installed:
MigrationAdvisorReports\Analysis_yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm.html
