This topic contains detailed information about the reconfiguration options that you can select for an existing instance of BMC Analytics for BSM. You can modify or repair the existing instance of BMC Analytics for BSM using any of the following options.

Note

  • Run the installer as an administrator to make sure that when you select any of the following options, you will have full access to the system and its applications.
  • These options are not an alternative for upgrading BMC Analytics for BSM.

Change Analytics AuthenticationUse this option to change either from SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Authentication to BMC Atrium Single Sign-On Authentication or from BMC Atrium Single Sign-On Authentication to SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Authentication.

If you are using SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Authentication and want to change to BMC Atrium Single Sign-On Authentication:

  • BMC Remedy AR System server and BMC Atrium must be configured and working with BMC Atrium Single Sign-On.

There are no specific prerequisites if you are using BMC Atrium Single Sign-On Authentication and want to change to SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Authentication.

 

Repair AR System Database Objects

Use this option if the BMC Remedy AR System database objects like stored procedures, functions, and tables that are installed by BMC Analytics for BSM are deleted or corrupted.

Note: New BMC Remedy AR System database objects are not created; only existing BMC Remedy AR System objects that your current BMC Analytics for BSM is using, will be repaired.

No specific prerequisites.

BMC Remedy AR System stored procedures, functions, and tables

Modify existing Timezone and LocaleUse this option if you want to change the existing timezone and locale.The timezone related scripts and the BMC Analytics for BSM scripts must be working.

Storing and updating time zone data

Modify existing Fiscal CalendarUse this option if you want to change the existing fiscal calendar details such as the Start Year, Start Month, and Number of Years.The BMC Analytics for BSM scripts must be working.

Storing and updating fiscal calendar data

Re-execute the DENORMALIZE procedureUse this option if:
  • There are changes related to the Business Service Model from BMC Atirum Explorer on the BMC Remedy AR System server.
  • If you want these changes to reflect in the BMC Analytics for BSM reports.
No specific prerequisites.

DENORMALIZE_BSM_RELATIONSHIPS table

Re-populate the Enumerated Values (Overlays)Use this option if:
  • You have created Overlays for ENUM values.
  • If there are changes to the ENUM values on the BMC Remedy AR System server.
  • If you want these changes to reflect in the BMC Analytics for BSM reports.
The BMC Analytics for BSM scripts must be working.

Storing and updating enumerated values

Reload the LCM BIAR file

Use this option if the BMC Analytics for BSM universe or reports get corrupted.

Note: Only the LCM BIAR file shipped with BMC Analytics for BSM will be reloaded.

BMC Analytics for BSM must be successfully installed and the SAP BusinessObjects configuration must be successfully completed.
