You can export information about all or only visible slots in a BAROC, XML, or CSV file or copy information about all the slots into the clipboard.

These operations enable you to send the event information to BMC Impact Manager (BMC IM or cell) using CLI commands. You can perform the export and copy operations on a maximum of 500 events.

To export event information

  1. From the event list, select an event.
  2. Click the wrench icon in the Tools Menu column, and then click Export.
  3. In the Export Events dialog box, select the format in which you want to export the event column information.
  4. Select Visible Slots to export information about the visible slots only or All Slotsto export information about all the slots.

    Note

When you export all the slots of an event, the generated BAROC file is not in a format that can be imported directly using the mposter command.
To import the BAROC file, make minor edits to the file. For example, in those slots that have a list of strings, change the double-quotes to single quotes.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Select a location to save the slot information, and click Save.

When you export an event, the exported CSV file is encoded in Unicode Transformation Format (UTF-8). You cannot view multi-byte characters in the CSV file encoded in UTF-8 in Microsoft Excel. Use another text editor, such as, Notepad on Windows to view the UTF-8 encoded CSV file.
