unload a KM

In BMC PATROL, to delete a Knowledge Module (KM) from a PATROL Console session to stop monitoring KM-defined objects on all computers. When you unload a KM, the KM files are not deleted from the directories on the PATROL Console or the PATROL Agent computers. The PATROL Agent continues to run the KM, collect parameter data, and run recovery actions until no connected console has the KM loaded. If a KM has been flagged as static, it is not unloaded. user preferences

In BMC PATROL, the PATROL Console settings that designate the account that you want to use to perform the following functions:
  • Connect to monitored host computers.
  • Prevent a console with developer functionality from downloading its version of a Knowledge Module (KM) to a PATROL Agent upon connection.
  • Disable the commit process for a console with developer functionality.
  • Determine certain window and icon display characteristics.
  • Specify the event cache size.
  • Indicate whether startup and shutdown commands are enabled.

 A PATROL Console with either developer or operator functionality can change user preferences.

version arbitration

In BMC PATROL, the Knowledge Module (KM) version comparison that BMC PATROL makes when a PATROL Console connects to a PATROL Agent. By default, the following choices are made:
  • KM versions from PATROL Consoles with developer functionality are loaded rather than PATROL Agent KM versions.
  • PATROL Agent KM versions are loaded rather than KM versions from PATROL Consoles with operator functionality.

view filter

In BMC PATROL, a filter that can be created in an event manager and that screens events forwarded from PATROL Agents. Views can be created, stored, and reapplied to host computers.

wpconfig

In BMC PATROL for Microsoft Windows, the GUI utility for setting PATROL Agent configuration variables. The wpconfig utility can be accessed from a computer pop-up menu on a computer running a PATROL Agent or a computer running a PATROL Console with developer functionality. xpconfig

In BMC PATROL for UNIX, the GUI utility for setting PATROL Agent configuration variables. You can access the xpconfig utility from an xterm session command line on a computer running a PATROL Agent. Alternatively, you can access the utility from a pop-up menu or an xterm session command line on a PATROL Console with developer functionality.
