This section gives you an overview on parameters of PATROL for Microsoft Exchange Servers.

The types of parameters of PATROL for Exchange Servers are as follows:

Inactive parameters

The following parameters are inactive on installation:

MSEXCH_DB_Private application class

The following parameters of the MSEXCH_DB_Private application class are inactive:

  • ServerCpuPct
  • ServerMemory

The following Exchange application class parameters are inactive:

  • EvtLogErrorCount

  • ServerMemory
  • EvtLogErrorCount
  • EvtLogWarningCount

Parameter activation

PATROL for Microsoft Exchange Servers activates and deactivates certain parameters dynamically based on your environment. For example, if your Exchange environment consists of a front-end server, PATROL for Microsoft Exchange Servers deactivates parameters that collect and display information about the public and private databases.

The following table lists the parameters that are activated and deactivated dynamically in PATROL for Microsoft Exchange Servers.

Parameters activated and deactivated dynamically

  • PrivateFolders (MSEXCH_Cluster_Container)
  • ServerMsgSize
    (MSEXCH_Cluster_Container)
  • ServerMessages
    (MSEXCH_Cluster_Container)
  • MaxFolderMsgs
    (MSEXCH_Cluster_Container)

These parameters are active only if the NT_EVLOGFILES or NT_EV_APPLICATION application class in the PATROL KM for Windows Operating System is loaded:
  • ClientLicenseCount (MSEXCH_Performance)
  • ClientLicensePctMax (MSEXCH_Server_Health_Container)
Theses parameters are active only if the registry value for SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LicenseInfo\MSExchangeIS\ConcurrentLimit is not equal to 0:

These parameters are deactivated if the Exchange server environment is a clustered environment:
  • DiskStatusRpt (MSEXCH_Server_Health_Container)
These parameters are deactivated if the Exchange server environment is not a clustered environment and the enable_NT_disk_monitoring pconfig variable is not equal to 1:
  • DiskStatusRpt (MSEXCH_Virtual_Server_Health)

These parameter are activated if the Exchange server environment is a clustered environment and the enable_NT_disk_monitoring pconfig variable is equal to 1:
