Installing BMC Remedy ITSM Process Designer 8.3.04 in a server group

When installing Process Designer in a server group, consider the following:

  • You must install Process designer components on the computer where BMC Remedy AR server is installed.
  • The Process Designer component will be installed only on the primary server.
  • When you re-run the installer on the secondary servers, only the Process Designer server is installed on the secondary servers in the server group. The Process Designer server is installed on the primary server as well.

To install Process Designer in a server group

  1. Enable admin operations.
    1. Go to BMC Remedy AR System Administration Console > System > General > Server Information
    2. Click on the Configuration tab.
    3. Deselect the Disable Administration Operations option.
  2. Install Process Designer on the primary server.
  3. Restart the primary server.
  4. Install Process Designer server on all the secondary servers.
  5. Restart the secondary server.
  6. (Optional) Disable admin operations.

Note

If you have installed Mid tier is on a separate server, you must manually copy the requestTrackerDVM.jar, designerDVM.jar, and ProcessDesigner.jar files located in the <installation directory>\BMC Software\ARSystem\midtier\ThirdPartyJars folder to the Mid tier server.

We said copy that files to the Midtier Server. It would be appropriate if we mentioned to copy -requestTrackerDVM.jar, designerDVM.jar, and ProcessDesigner.jar under \ThirdPartyJars

    C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\midtier\ThirdPartyJars

The note about copying files to the mid-tier server should be placed under Post Installation Tasks as it applies to non-server group installations as well.

And shouldn't the jar files be copied from C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ProcessDesigner\Resources on the AR System Server host (where Process Designer is installed) to the mid-tier server?
