People data integration
People data registers and identifies BMC Helix application users. After people data is initially loaded, it must be periodically updated in accordance with the customer directory of users. The people data integration enables a recurring synchronization of the customer's directory source to the BMC Helix people records in order to keep people and organization data up to date. This integration is commonly requested during the initial onboarding project and is designed and implemented by your onboarding team under a statement of work.
You can use Atrium Integrator to load people data into BMC Helix CMDB. The data is imported and transformed by creating jobs in Atrium Integrator or Atrium Integrator Spoon, which is the Pentaho Spoon application. For more information, see Transferring data from external data stores to BMC Helix CMDB .

I am confused. Are we to move forward with the People Data integration to be up to the customer on how they link back to BMC Helix? It would seem somewhere along the lines BMC SaaS would provide suggestions or recommendations on how to bring in the people data instead of leaving it up to them on how to figure it out. We use BMC Atrium Integrator to do our people data integration. Not sure if that is the best method but it works.
Thank you, Leonard, for your comment.
Using Atrium Integrator for people data integration is a tried and tested method. I have included relevant links in this topic.
Thanks,
Dhanya
Thanks but I am aware of the Atrium Integrator being a tried and tested method. However, I now have TWO Customers who use Azure and want that for their data integration - thus restricting access to LDAP for us to use Atrium Integration. The times are changing and we need BMC Support to help in setting up Azure to People Integration since this is the way to the future. There are possibly two options - one using a Graphic API from Azure (this pulls 100 records per data pull and should process all intended records - has not been tested or verified) and the other may be using SCIM Provisioning, also provided by Azure but this is a "push" of data not a "pull" of data, Thus, BMC Support / Engineers need to stick with the assistance of People Data Integration until this is resolved.
Thanks for your feedback, Leonard.
We look at improvements like this as part of our roadmap, but unfortunately, we cannot comment on specific plans and timelines in this public forum.

Dhanya
Any update on this people integration using Azure AD? we also want to integrate people updates using Azure and I am not able to find any documentation on this. As Leonard Warren mentioned this is the future.. would be nice to have OTB connectors to sync the data.
Hello Arunkumar,
We currently use LDAP protocol in the platform to synchronize user data, which is not dependent on a specific product.
Azure Active Directory (AD) does not support LDAP. The alternative is to set up an Azure AD Domain Services (Azure AD DS) instance, configure security groups with Azure Networking, and then connect LDAP to that instance. However, this is not a scenario that we’ve tested out-of-the-box.
As a future roadmap for the IS platform, we are looking to synchronize user data via System for Cross-Domain Identity Management (SCIM). SCIM protocol, a more modern approach, is an open standard protocol for automating the exchange of user identity information between identity domains and IT systems and can be easily enabled in Azure AD. However, please note that the future roadmap decisions may be subject to change, and we cannot comment on specific plans and timelines.
Thanks,
Dhanya
Hi
As an organization we are moving away from traditional AD, as per the thread AAD does not support LDAP. As an example, all new AD groups in our organization are only created in AAD, therefore we can no longer load new AD groups into BMC for use in automation or form requests. We will soon be in a similar position with new users. How can we get this prioritized on the roadmap? Thanks Richard
Hello Richard, Thank you for your comment.
I have checked with the PM Team, and rest assured the Azure AD connectivity is in the roadmap for the upcoming releases. However, we cannot confirm the exact schedule or timelines, as there are many planned priority items. Also, please note that the future roadmap decisions may be subject to change.
Thanks, Dhanya
Hi;
Do we have any update on this subject (people data integration with Azure AD)??
Hello Carlos,
Thank you for writing to us. I apologize for the delay in our response.
We do not have an update on this subject. The Azure AD integration is in the roadmap for an upcoming release.
However, we cannot confirm the exact schedule or timelines. Also, please note that the future roadmap decisions are subject to change.

Dhanya
