Application branding

Application branding allows customers to personalize their BMC Helix services and associated mobile applications with their own company logo and design styles. Branding allows you to change the color scheme, icons, and/or background images to meet your corporate standards. Most services provide an in-app branding feature so that the customer can apply changes on their own. This topic provides an overview of branding information and links to the product spaces for branding instructions.

As part of the application branding service:

Any environment can be modified to display customer branding in place of the out-of-the-box images and logos.
Changes to the default logos can be made at any time while a customer has an active subscription.
Service updates may require a re-implementation of a custom branding setting.
A customer logo can be applied to a number of user-facing screens.
Customers are responsible for creating their own custom images for the rebranding exercise and ensuring that they are in the proper graphic format. Create your graphics in Inkscape, GIMP, Photoshop or a similar tool.
All images must be created in the required file extension format - Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpg), Graphics Interchange Format (.gif) or Portable Network Graphics (.png).

Important: Customers using Single Sign-On will not need to rebrand the login page logo image or the background images for the login page. See BMC Helix Single Sign-On.

You can use the customization options of BMC Helix Digital Workplace to adjust the look and feel of the application to your business needs. For example, in rebranding settings, you can insert a product logo of your company and attach a background image for the landing page. You can rebrand Smart IT on the Universal Client (UC) desktop web interface according to your company standards and requirements. For BMC Helix ITSM with Smart IT, see Rebranding Smart IT on the Universal Client Open link .

BMC Helix Digital Workplace / BMC Helix ITSM: Smart IT for iOS devices

In addition to the parameters listed above, you may also brand the favicon (shortcut icon) used for your mobile application.

Important: Updating the favicon is not possible if your are using Safari or Microsoft Edge.

Users will either access the URL from the mobile device's browser, or by downloading the BMC Digital Workplace application from the Apple App store. The mobile application will have the same branding that was applied on the Universal Client.
