This section lists the minimum requirements and supported resources for the BMC PATROL for Hadoop for product.

Requirements for installing BMC PATROL for Hadoop

Operating systems (for PATROL Agent only)

BMC PATROL for Hadoop is supported on all the operating systems supported by the PATROL Agent. For a list of operating systems supported by PATROL Agent, see PATROL Agent system requirements.

  • PATROL Agent version 9.6.00 or later
  • Any of the following consoles:
    • PATROL Console for Windows version 3.5.92 or later
    • PATROL Central Operator – Microsoft Windows Edition 7.8.00 or later
    • PATROL Central Operator – Web Edition 7.8.00 or later
Other PATROL products
  • PATROL Installation Utility version 9.6.00 and later
  • Distribution Server version 7.8.20
  • Distribution Client version 7.8.20

Browser

When installing BMC PATROL for Hadoop with PATROL Installation Utility 9.6.00, a browser is required. For a list of supported browsers, see the PATROL Installation Utility online documentation.

Ports

  • If you are installing an Agent or console with BMC PATROL for Hadoop, you must specify the port number to connect to all the agent computers. The default port number is 3181.
  • Specify the port number for Hadoop NameNode. The default NameNode port number is 50070.

Specify the port number you want to connect to. If you want to monitor ResourceManager, DataNode or NodeManager port enter the specific port.

Minimum hardware requirementsx64, 2 CPU, 4 GB RAM

Note

BMC products are certified for use on supported operating system versions. BMC does not explicitly test for OS patches/updates that are released after a BMC product is released.

BMC products should work fine with minor updates to these supported operating systems. For assistance, please contact BMC Customer Support.
