In BMC Performance Manager, a quick, one-time test written in PATROL Script Language (PSL) to determine whether a resource that you want to monitor is installed or running on a monitored computer. If the results are affirmative, the PATROL Agent runs the discovery script. Prediscovery helps reduce PATROL Agent processing requirements.
