grid
In BMC Atrium Orchestrator, a logical collection of peers, usually executing on different physical host computers. The peers in a grid can communicate by using a variety of methods. The peers in a grid work as a group, communicating concurrently with every other grid peer in the group. The peers in a grid can detect which peers are running and the load on those peers.
The core functions of a grid are:
- Grid component provisioning, configuration, and management
- Activity detection, initiation, and processing
- Process scheduling
- Dynamic load distribution
- Corporate-wide metric and data aggregation
