In BMC PATROL 3.x and earlier, a file that stores information about the desktop setup of one computer. You can create multiple desktop template files for any number of PATROL Consoles. Each PATROL Console user can apply a template to selected computers on the desktop. By default, desktop template files always have a .dtm extension. See also desktop file.
