In BMC ProactiveNet, the event processing engine that collects, processes, and stores all events and data in memory as well as on disk in near-real time. Each cell uses the information in its associated Knowledge Base to identify the types of events to accept and how to process and distribute them. A cell runs either as a Microsoft Windows service or as a UNIX daemon on supported platforms.
