In BMC Server Automation, a service that is responsible for authenticating a BMC Server Automation user and issuing a session credential to the user. Typically, an Authentication Service is implemented within the BMC Server Automation Application Server, but for BMC BladeLogic Decision Support for Server Automation, the Authentication Service stands alone.
