By default, BMC PATROL for Docker uses Java Runtime Environment (JRE) that is installed with the PATROL Agent. However, you can configure BMC PATROL for Docker to use your own JRE that is installed in a different location.

To configure BMC PATROL for Docker to use a different Java home directory

  1. In the PATROL Main Map tree, right-click the Docker node and select KM Commands > Configure JAVA Home.
  2. In the JRE Configuration Dialog Box, in the Specify JRE Version 1.7 or later field, enter the complete path to the Java home directory.
For example, if your Java executable exists in the /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_71/jre/bin/java path, specify /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_71/jre as the value of this field.
  3. Click Apply to save the configuration.

  4. Restart the PATROL Agent to apply the configuration.
