This topic provides information about configuring the Citrix XenServer by using Central Monitoring Administration.
On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Citrix XenServer, and the Monitor Type set to Citrix XenServer, provide the following details:

XenServer Pool Master/Host Details | |
Host Name | Enter the name of the host that you want to identify as the pool master or name of the standalone host that you want to add. |
Port Number | Specify the port number for the pool master or standalone host. |
XenServer Credentials | |
User Name | Specify a valid username for the pool master or standalone host. Ensure that this user has at least Read-Only privileges. |
Password | Enter a valid password for the specified user. |
Confirm Password | Re-enter the password for the specified user. |
XenServer Performance Data Configuration | |
Host Details | |
Host Name | Specify the host name or IP address of the Citrix XenServer. Enter a comma-separated list of hosts if you want to configure performance data collection account for multiple hosts. |
Use regular expression | Select this checkbox if you want to use a regular expression to enter the names of hosts in the Host Name field. For all the hosts that satisfy the regular expression, performance data collection account will be configured. Note If you want to configure multiple hosts simultaneously, a common user account with the same password needs to be created on each of the hosts. |
Host Credentials | |
User Name | Specify a valid username for connecting to the host. |
Password | Specify a valid password for the specified user. |
Confirm Password | Re-enter the password for the specified user. |
Use pool master credentials | Select this checkbox if you want to use resource pool master host credentials for the host. |
Add to List | Click this option for confirming the configuration information that you provided and adding the host name to the list of configured XenServers. |
Modify Selection | Select one of the items that you added to the list in the preceding step, and click this option to modify details. |
Remove from List | Select the items added earlier and click this option to delete that item from the list of configured objects and the clear the details provided in the earlier fields. |
Reset | Click this option to clear off your configuration details and revert to default settings. |
Add | Click this option to add this monitoring configuration. This information is displayed on the Monitor Configuration page. After you click this option, you can continue to add more objects for monitoring. |
Close | Click this option to exit without saving any changes. |

In the "Username" field, it is mentioned "Ensure that this user has at least Read-Only privileges". However, we need to be specific over which files/directories does the user need read access to.
