- Comparison showing the expected benefits after implementing a recommendation
For more information, see Using recommendations to resolve capacity risk and efficiency issues.
Ability to export and import custom data marts
You can now export and import custom data marts and reuse them in multiple environments of TrueSight Capacity Optimization, without having to recreate them. The new identifier attribute added to the custom data mart ensures that the relationship between data marts in the source environment is retained in the destination environment. You do not need to perform any additional manual task to replicate the data mart relationships. For more information, see Managing data marts for custom views, reports, and report templates and Upgrade notes.
The functionality to export and import custom views is also enhanced to include relationships between data marts. For more information, see Exporting and importing views.
Ability to create custom rolling statistics
The Rolling Statistics tab is added to the Custom statistics page to display the predefined set of entities and metrics for out-of-the-box rolling statistics. You can also create custom rolling statistics for additional metrics.
For more information, see Working with custom statistics.
Domain filter enhancements
- The filter page displays all the domains in your environment with pagination to navigate through the domain pages.
- Search can now be performed within the currently selected domain.
- A browse sequence is displayed to quickly select the required domain in the hierarchy of nested domains.
For more information, see Using filtering options in the TrueSight console.
Enhancements to custom view templates
The following new configuration options are added to the custom view templates:
Enhancement | Supported custom view templates |
---|---|

Display of data based on custom data mart: You can now configure the hierarchy of data to be displayed on the map based on the custom data mart. |
Enhanced Kubernetes view
The Kubernetes view is enhanced to display detailed data for Kubernetes pods, controllers, and containers. You can use this information to perform detailed analysis of the capacity of your Kubernetes infrastructure.
Simplified Investigate Study creation
You can now create an Investigate study directly from the Investigate Study page. The Create Investigate Study wizard that was used for specifying study details is discontinued.
For more information, see Creating and managing Investigate studies.
Enhanced manager run configuration for Gateway Server
You can now configure the following additional manager run parameters while creating or updating an Agent list.
- Number of nodes per policy file and manager run
- Custom workload characterization
- Timezone for collecting and processing data
- Period for retaining and deleting data
For more information, see Managing the Gateway Server agent list.
Support for registering Capacity Agents using the API
The GWS Agent Registration API is introduced to create or update an Agent list, which contains names of managed systems where the Capacity Agent is installed. The Gateway Server uses Agent lists to register the Agents for data collection. For more information, see Registering the Agent using the Agent Registration API.
Enhanced documentation
A new section, Implementing, is added to the documentation. It contains end-to-end use cases for different environments. The use cases describe how you can use TrueSight Capacity Optimization in your environment to meet your capacity management goals.
Extended Coverage for Data Collection
Metrics for Numa systems and HP IVM guests
The Capacity Agent can now collect metrics from Numa systems and additional metrics from HP IVM guests. For more information, see Linux metrics and UNIX system metrics.
New ETL to import data from AppDynamics
The new AppDynamics ETL enables you to collect data from AppDynamics, which is an application performance monitoring solution for enterprise technologies and cloud-native environments. This integration supports the following use cases and capabilities:
- Business transactions defined within the AppDynamics platform: To build business-aware capacity models and forecast future business volumes
- Application topology discovered by AppDynamics: To increase the capacity management process efficiency with up-to-date application structure available for analysis and models
- Metrics imported at various aggregation levels: To analyze the capacity at the host, tier, and application level
The integration supports the AppDynamics SaaS offering and leverages the official AppDynamics REST APIs for data extraction.
For more information, see Moviri Integrator for TrueSight Capacity Optimization - AppDynamics.
Additional data sources for the Business Services view
The following ETL modules now support the collection of data at the service pool level, which you can analyze in the Business Services view:
- Moviri Integrator for TrueSight Capacity Optimization - ServiceNow
- Moviri Integrator for TrueSight Capacity Optimization - Dynatrace
