Before you begin
- Ensure that the target computers meet the requirements specified in System requirements and Recommended installation environment for Gateway Server.
- Fill out the Installation worksheet for Gateway Server and Capacity Agent on Windows or Installation worksheet for Gateway Server and Capacity Agent on UNIX and Linux.
- You must have installed the Application Server components.
- You must have reviewed Planning to deploy Gateway Server and Agent.
Installation methods
When installing the Gateway Server components, you can choose to run the installation program from a wizard UI or from a command line. Regardless of the installation method that you choose, ensure that you first complete the prerequisite tasks.
Wizard-based installation
Wizard-based installation on Windows
- Download the installation files for the Gateway Server and the Capacity Agent.
- Prepare for a Gateway Server installation on a Windows computer.
- Perform the Gateway Server installation.
- Install the Capacity Agent application on target computers.
- Verify the Gateway Server installation on Windows.
Wizard-based installation on UNIX or Linux
- Download the installation files for the Gateway Server and the Capacity Agent.
- Prepare for a Gateway Server installation on a UNIX or Linux computer.
- Perform the Gateway Server installation.
- Install the Capacity Agent application on target computers.
- Verify the Gateway Server Installation on UNIX and Linux.
Silent installation mode

- Update the property config file for the Gateway Server installation, and perform the installation.
- Install the Capacity Agent application on target computers.

- Download the installation files for the Gateway Server and the Capacity Agent.
- Prepare for a Gateway Server installation on a UNIX or Linux computer.
- Update the property config file for the Gateway Server installation, and perform the installation .
