The Hosts page in the Solaris LDOM view provides an overview of all available Solaris LDOM hosts in the Solaris virtualization environment, including details about CPU and memory utilization, unused resources and more.

To access the page, in the TrueSight console navigation pane, click Capacity Views > Virtualization > Solaris > LDOM, and in the Solaris LDOM page, click the Hosts tab.

The Hosts table lists all Solaris LDOM hosts in the selected domain.

By default, some columns are hidden. You can show or hide columns using the action menuthat is located next to the table title.

This topic contains the following sections:

Hosts table

Each row in the table represents a host and displays the following metrics:

Host

Name of the LDOM host.

Last valueNAME

Logical Processors

Number of logical processors in the LDOM host.

Last value

LCPU_NUM

CPU [cores]

Total number of physical CPU cores available in the host.

Last valueCPU_NUM

Unused cores

Number of unused CPU cores.

Computed metric- Based on 95th Percentile value of CPU usageComputed using CPU_UTILMHZ and CPU_MHZ

CPU Util [%]

CPU usage of the host expressed in percentage normalized by the logical processors of the host.

Total Spec RatingThe total SPEC benchmark performance rating of the host, based on the CPU model and number of CPU cores. FRAME_BENCHMARK_VALUE
Unused Spec RatingUnused SPEC rating of the host, based on CPU utilization and the total SPEC rating. BENCHMARK_VALUE_UNUSED

Memory [GB]

Total physical memory available to the LDOM host.

95th PercentileTOTAL_REAL_MEM

Unused Memory [GB]

Unused memory available to the LDOM host.

Computed metric- Based on 95th Percentile value of Memory usageComputed using MEM_USED and TOTAL_REAL_MEM

Memory Util [%]

Percentage of memory used by the host normalized by the total memory of the host.

95th PercentileMEM_UTIL_PCT
Real Memory Util [%]Real memory utilization of the LDOM, excluding the amount of memory used by the buffer cache, normalized by the memory configured for the LDOM.95th percentile value of real memory utilization of the host, excludes the memory assigned to file system cacheMEM_REAL_UTIL_PCT

Disk I/O Rate [MB/s]

Disk input/output rate, measured in Megabytes per second, aggregated from the partitions in the frame.

95th PercentileDISK_TRANSFER_RATE

Network Rate [Mbit/s]

Network transmitted/received rate, measured in Megabits per second, aggregated from the partitions in the frame.

95th PercentileNET_BIT_RATE

Configured LDOMs

Number of configured partitions in the LDOM host.

Number of configured logical domains in the LDOM hostCount of entities with relationship VH_CONTAINS_GM

To view details for a specific virtual host

To view the details page for a particular Solaris host, click its (hyper-linked) name under the Host column. You can use the sorting and filtering options on the page to find a specific host.

For more information, see Sorting tables in views in the TrueSight console and Using filtering options in views in the TrueSight console.

The Host Details page displays information for the selected domain under the following sections or panels:

Section or PanelDescription
Summary page

A quick graphical summary of the CPU and memory utilization, and disk and network I/O rate of the host. Core metrics for the selected entity are displayed as analysis charts, depending on available data. At the bottom of each chart is a link that takes you to the Data Explorer view for the specific resource type, and displays charts and information for a larger set of metrics.

The data displayed in Data Explorer view charts for any resource part of this view category, is based on the time filter that is applied to the primary view in this tab. You can select other time filter options to view charts over a different time resolution.

For more information, see DSD Host page in the Solaris Data Explorer view.
