Host Aggregate is an OpenStack entity. You can partition a single Compute deployment into logical groups; for example, into multiple groups of hosts that share common resources like storage and network, or have a special property such as trusted computing hardware.

The Host Aggregates tab under Cloud OpenStack displays information for all the host aggregates available in the selected zones. You can access the Host Aggregates in one of the following ways:

  • Select Views > All Views > Cloud > OpenStack > Host Aggregates.
  • In the OpenStack > Cloud details page, click the Host Aggregates link under the Configuration Data table.
  • Click the Host name link in the Availability Zones table.

This tab contains the Host Aggregates table that displays the following information for each available zone in the selected cloud:

CPU Overcommit Ratio

Ratio of memory allocated to the VMs to the total physical memory available in the hypervisors in the availability zone.

Memory Overcommit Ratio

Ratio of memory allocated to the VMs to the total physical memory available in the hypervisors in the host aggregate.

Spare VM basis

Custom or Typical is displayed. An average VM for cluster based on the past 30 days is used for Typical, whereas Custom indicates that custom VM data (Average utilization of CPU, Memory, and Datastore ) is specified. To edit the value that has been set, click the value displayed in this column.

NATYPICAL or CUSTOM
Days To Saturation

The projected amount of time before one of the resources (CPU, MEMORY, STORAGE) in the host aggregate runs out of available capacity.

Displays the number of days to saturation for the least available resource.

Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th Utilizations of CPU, Memory and Storage   IND_DAYS_TO_SATURATION 
Bottleneck ResourceName of the resource that has either saturated or will saturate in the next 30 days. Bottleneck resource can be CPU, MEMORY or STORAGE. The field is blank if none of the resources has saturated, or will saturate.Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and StorageIND_BNECK_RESOURCE

Viewing details for a Host Aggregate

Click on the name of the Host Aggregate to view details.

After you select a host aggregate from the Host Aggregate list, the Host Aggregate tab is refreshed and displays a number of portlets such as analysis charts, contained elements, and utilization charts that display detailed resource and utilization information. To use a different cloud, click the  icon and select from the list.

Capacity SummaryTableDisplays utilization and other information such as vCPU parameters, CPU Overcommit ratio, and saturation details for the cloud. For more information, see Viewing OpenStack cloud capacity summary.
CPU cores, vCPUs, Overcommit RatioAnalysis chart (hourly)

Displays the number of CPU cores, vCPUs, and CPU Overcommit Ratio in a cloud on an hourly basis.
Click Maximize to view an enlarged version of the chart. Click Restore to return to the default view.

CPU UtilizationAnalysis chart (hourly)

Displays physical core CPU utilization (in MHz) and the total clock frequency of the cloud and its resources, on an hourly basis.
Click Maximize to view an enlarged version of the chart. Click Restore to return to the default view.

Memory UtilizationAnalysis chart (hourly)

Displays consumed memory versus real memory utilization (in GB) of the cloud and its resources.
Click Maximize to view an enlarged version of the chart. Click Restore to return to the default view.

Datastore  UtilizationAnalysis chart (hourly)

Displays total datastore space utilized versus total datastores size of the cloud and its resources.
Click Maximize to view an enlarged version of the chart. Click Restore to return to the default view.

ThresholdsLinkPlaced right under the Capacity Summary table, clicking on the link takes you to the Thresholds page for the selected cloud. For more information, see Adding and viewing thresholds.
HypervisorsLinkDisplays information for all hypervisors in the selected host aggregate. For more information, see Hypervisors.
