The DSDs page in the Solaris DSD Host view provides an overview of available dynamic system domains (DSDs) in the Solaris DSD virtualization environment, including details such as CPU utilization, memory utilization, and so on.

To access the page, in the TrueSight console navigation pane, click Capacity Views > Virtualization > Solaris > DSD, and in the Solaris DSD page, click the DSDs tab.

The DSDs table lists all Solaris DSDs in the selected host.

By default, some columns are hidden. You can show or hide columns using the action menuthat is located next to the table title.

This topic contains the following sections:

DSDs table

Each row in the table represents a DSD and displays the following metrics:

DSD

Name of the dynamic system domain.

Last valueNAME

Host

Name of the host the domain belongs to.

Last valueHost name retrieved using relationship VH_CONTAINS_GM

Dedicated Processors [cores]

Total number of CPU cores dedicated to the domain.

Last valueCPU_NUM

CPU Util [%]

Percentage of CPU used by the domain normalized by the number of dedicated processors.

95th PercentileCPU_UTIL

Real Memory Util [%]Real memory utilization of the DSD, excluding the amount of memory used by the buffer cache, normalized by the memory configured for the DSD.95th PercentileTOTAL_REAL_MEM

Disk I/O Rate [MB/s]

The disk input/output rate, measured in Megabytes per second.

To view details for a specific DSD

To view the details page for a particular Solaris DSD, click its (hyper-linked) name under the DSD column. You can use the sorting and filtering options on the page to find a specific DSD.

For more information, see Sorting tables in views in the TrueSight console and Using filtering options in views in the TrueSight console.

The DSD Details page displays information for the selected DSD under the following sections or panels:

Section or PanelDescription
Summary page

A quick graphical summary of the CPU and memory utilization, and disk and network I/O rate of the DSD. Core metrics for the selected entity are displayed as analysis charts, depending on available data. At the bottom of each chart is a link that takes you to the Data Explorer view for the specific resource type, and displays charts and information for a larger set of metrics.

The data displayed in Data Explorer view charts for any resource part of this view category, is based on the time filter that is applied to the primary view in this tab. You can select other time filter options to view charts over a different time resolution.
