    This section explains the following procedures:

    Allowing Oracle RAC as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System

    You can select Oracle RAC as a data source for BMC Remedy AR System:

    1. Go to the Admin Console for BMC Dashboards for BSM and on the BMC Dashboards for BSM Login screen, enter your administrator login ID and password.
    2. Click Login.
    3. Go to Data Source Configuration > BMC Remedy AR System Server and click the Connection tab.
    4. For the Database Type field, select Oracle RAC from the drop-down menu.
    5. In the new Service Name field that is displayed, add the service name for Oracle RAC.
    6. Fill in the required information for the remaining fields and click Save.

    Creating a custom data source for Oracle RAC

    Follow the steps given below to create a custom data source for Oracle RAC:

    1. Go to the Admin Console for BMC Dashboards for BSM and on the BMC Dashboards for BSM Login screen, enter your administrator login ID and password.
    2. Click Login.
    3. Go to Data Source Configuration > Custom Data Sources and click New Custom Data Source.
    4. Under the Database Properties section, for the Database Type field, select Oracle RAC.
    5. In the new Service Name field that is displayed, add the service name for Oracle RAC.
    6. Fill in the required information for the remaining fields and click Save.
