Configuring Apache HTTP Server (httpd) as the load balancer for BMC Dashboards for BSM


The clustered BMC Atrium DIL and BMC Dashboards for BSM application server components require a load balancer. Thought this section contains information about the installation and configuration of Apache HTTP Server (httpd) as the load balancer, you can use any software or hardware load balancer with BMC Dashboards for BSM.

If you use a software or hardware load balancer other than Apache httpd, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installation and configuration.

Note

You must install and configure the Apache httpd load balancer before you install BMC Dashboards for BSM.

The procedures in this section illustrate the installation and configuration of the Apache htpd load balancer on Microsoft Windows. If you install and configure on UNIX or Linux, the steps vary accordingly.
