Using the driver selection GUI - mass storage drivers

You use the driver selection GUI to browse to the data store and select mass storage drivers.

To select mass storage drivers

1. On the Computer Settings tab, next to Mass storage drivers, click Browse .

2. For Select Data Store, browse to the data store that contains the mass storage drivers.

   Note

   Browsing the data store for the mass storage drivers has the following requirements:

   • The drivers must be located in the same data store as the rest of the installation files for this system package.
   • There must already exist in the BMC Server Automation environment a server object whose name matches the LOCATION property of the data store instance you selected.

3. In the left pane, navigate to the directory that contains the first driver that you want to add.

   Note

   If you filled in Path to $OEM$ directory, the navigation panel uses the $OEM$ path you specified as its root. If you did not fill in the Path to $OEM$ directory, the navigation panel uses the data store root as its root.

4. Click the txtsetup.oem file for that directory. The mass storage drivers appear in the right pane. (If you do not see the drivers in the right pane, you may need to examine and correct the format of the entries in txtsetup.oem. See Error to check in txtsetup.oem.)
5. In the right pane, click drivers to add. Use Control-click or Shift-click to select multiple drivers.

6. Click OK. The GUI automatically fills in the Mass storage driversfield on the Computer Settings panel. It also adds required entries to the Unattend Entries file.

   Note

   If you did not fill in the Path to $OEM$ directory, the system checks to see if the directories you specified are directly beneath the i386 or amd64 directory. If they are not, they are automatically copied to a location directly beneath the i386 or amd64 directory, for example:drive*:\pxestore\win2k3\i386\$OEM$ \TEXTMODE. For more information, see When to use Specify path to $OEM$ directory.

7. If you have not yet associated this system package with this data store, a message appears, asking if you would like to set this data store as the default data store for this system package.
   To automatically display the contents of this data store every time you start the driver selection GUI from this system package, click Yes. (Note that if you associate this data store with this system package, this data store appears by default if you subsequently browse for PnP drivers.)
