This section describes how to use BMC Server Automation UCS Manager (the integration of BMC Server Automation UCS Manager with the Cisco UCS Manager) to provision blades in a Cisco UCS system. The following table provides a high-level description of the process for provisioning UCS blades and includes links to topics with detailed instructions.

Plan and prepare the environmentReview the provisioning requirements and prerequisites for the UCS environment. Some prerequisites are tasks that you must perform before you can perform UCS provisioning.Prerequisites for a UCS provisioning environment
Create a UCS template and define its settings

This template contains all of the characteristics of the system that you are about to provision—the selected blade or blade pool, VNICs, boot order, policies, and other characteristics. A UCS template in the BMC Server Automation interface corresponds to a Service profile template in the Cisco UCS interface.
