To stock a data store with SUSE Linux 9.x AMD 64

  1. Create a directory in the data store to hold the SUSE operating system installation files. For example, if the root directory of the data store is C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\PXE\pxestore, enter the following command:
    mkdir "C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\PXE\pxestore\suse90_64"
  2. Create five subdirectories under the suse90 directory. Name the directories CD1, CD2, CD3, CD4, and CD5.
  3. Copy the contents of the SUSE product CDs to the directories as shown in the following table:

    Source

    Destination directory

    Disk 2

    CD1

    Disk 3

    CD2

    Disk 4

    CD3

    Disk 5

    CD4

    Disk 6

    CD5

    Note

The source disk number differs from the destination directory number.

  4. Copy the boot directory from disc 1 to the same location in the CD1 directory, choosing to overwrite all files.
  5. Copy the yast directory from disc 1 to the same location in the CD1 directory, choosing to overwrite all files.
  6. Copy the suse/x86_64 directory from disc 1 to the same location in the CD1 directory, choosing to overwrite all files.
  7. Copy the suse/setup/descrdirectory from disc 1 to the same location in the CD1 directory, choosing to overwrite all files.

    Note

When you use the Configurations window to identify the location of operating system installer packages, ensure you enter a path relative to the base directory of the data store. The path should include the CD1 directory. For example, if the CD directories are located in C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\PXE\pxestore\suse90, and the base directory of the data store is C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\PXE\pxestore, you would enter suse90\CD1.
