BMC BladeLogic ZipKits
BladeLogic Zipkits contain system packages for provisioning, operation utilities for configuration changes, and server compliance packages for Windows and Linux. This topic provides an introduction to ZipKits, and contains the following sections:
What exactly is a ZipKit?
A ZipKit is a prebuilt set of automation content designed to simplify the execution of common tasks you might otherwise use BMC Server Automation for, including looking for security vulnerabilities or deploying an application, and many other tasks.
BMC Server Automation ZipKits provide out-of-the-box system packages for popular Operating Systems like RedHat, CentOS, SuSE, Oracle Linux and MS Windows. ZipKits also provide BLPackages for common enterprise applications and databases like MS SQL Server, Oracle 11g R2, MongoDB, MySQL, WebLogic, IIS and Apache web servers. These packages are built for the community and supported by the community.
Are the ZipKits pre-installed?
Some ZipKits are automatically installed when you install or upgrade to BMC Server Automation version 8.6 or later.
However, the majority of the ZipKits must be downloaded from BMC Communities.
Are there other ZipKits I can use?
There is a rich library of ZipKits available to you for use in your BMC Server Automation environment. To see the full list, go to BMC Communities.
