Use an access control list (ACL) template to add a predefined set of permissions to one or more roles.

To add a predefined set of permissions to a role

  1. If you are using the Permissions view to perform this procedure, make sure the Access Control List tab is selected. It should be selected by default. If you are using a wizard to perform this procedure, skip this step.
  2. Click ACL template to open a dialog box for specifying ACL templates.
  3. Select one or more ACL templates on the dialog box.
  4. If you want the contents of the selected ACL templates to replace all entries in the access control list, check Replace ACL with Selected Templates.
If you do not check this option, the contents of the selected ACL templates are appended to any existing entries in the access control list. Replacing the current set of permissions with the contents of an ACL template is particularly useful when promoting a system object between roles.
  5. Click OK.
