You must connect SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise to Oracle database using Information Design Tool for SAP BusinessObjects Platform 4.0 SP4. You can create multiple connections using Information Design Tool for SAP Business Intelligence Platform 4.0 SP4. Only one connection can be defined for each universe. The database connection is saved with the universe.

Note

Before connecting to the database, ensure that you have successfully imported the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management universe and reports to SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise.

Perform the following tasks:

  1. Import the universe that is stored in the repository. See Importing a universe that is stored in the repository.
  2. Create a new database connection. For Oracle database, see Creating a new Oracle database connection. For SQL Server database, see Creating a new SQL Server database connection.
  3. Export the universe back. See, Export the universe back to the repository.
