BMC Helix Portal Audit dashboard

As a tenant administrator, use the BMC Helix Portal Audit dashboard to monitor the details of various activities performed in BMC Helix Portal. For example, you can monitor and audit activities such as updates to the user roles, user groups, and so on. For more information about audit activities, see Viewing audit records Open link .

The dashboard uses the  BMC Helix data source, and the Audit query type. For more information, see Audit query.


Example: View recently updated user roles

Jordan, the tenant administrator, wants to view the user roles that were updated in BMC Helix Portal in the last 30 days. He accesses the BMC Helix Portal Audit dashboard and selects filters on the appropriate Operation and Resource Types to get the data.

To view the BMC Helix Portal Audit dashboard

  1. In the navigation pane, hover over Dashboards and click Browse.
  2. Select Helix Common Services > BMC Helix Portal Audit.

Tip

To quickly open the dashboard from the home page, mark it as a favorite by using the star icon. Additionally, after you open a dashboard, it is available under Recently viewed dashboards on the home page.

Dashboard filters

Use the following filters to view specific records. You can select one or more options from the following filters:

  • Actor—the name of the user who performed the activity
  • Operation—the type of activity performed on the resource
  • Resource Type—the resource type, such as authentication

    Audit activities of all operations that are performed on alarm policies in BMC Helix Operations Management; for example, creating, updating, enabling, disabling, and deleting alarm policies.

    To view the audit activities of alarm policies, select the Alarm Policy resource type in the BMC Helix Portal Audit dashboard.


  • Resource Name—the name of the user on whom the activity was performed
  • Application—the application where the audit activity has been performed, such as identity management service

Audit Records

View the details of the audit activities performed in BMC Helix Portal.

  • Time (UTC)—The time of the activity performed
  • Category—The type of the activity performed
  • Actor—The user who performed the activity
  • Resource Type—The type of the object on which the activity is performed
  • Resource Name—The name of the object on which the activity is performed
  • Operation—The type of the activity
  • Status—The status of the activity
  • Changes—The type of changes performed on the object
  • Application—The application on which the activity is performed
  • Details—The details of the activity
  • Resource category—The category of the object on which the activity is performed
  • Source—The IP address of the system where the activity is performed 
  • Audit ID—The unique ID of entry in the audit service
