Where to find the attribute in BMC Server Automation

CDMachineID

Name for physical servers; Entity type and Entity Id for virtual servers

Example: VI-UUID:VM123456
In case of a physical server, identical to the Name attribute; if it is a virtual machine, it takes one of the following forms:

  • VI-UUID:EntityId for VMware
  • HYPERV-ID:EntityId for Microsoft
  • EntityId for other types of VMs

For physical servers, Server properties. For virtual servers, from the Configuration menu, select Property Dictionary View. Under System Object, expand Built-In Property Classes. Click the Virtualization class, then click the Instances tab on the right. Double-click a particular instance to see the attribute values.

Based on whether the server is decommissioned or not the entry might be soft deleted.

Note

BMC Server Automation does not discover memory details on Solaris and AIX platforms. Therefore, memory details are not imported to the BMC Atrium CMDB for the Solaris and AIX platforms.
