Configuring store for iOS support


This topic describes how to configure your store for iOS support.

To configure your BMC AppZone store for iOS support, you must first acquire the following items from Apple:

iOS Enterprise Certificate

This certificate is required in order for BMC AppZone to send push notifications to iOS native clients.

Obtain the certificate, saved in .p12 format and with no password protection, in order to complete your store configuration.

iOS Application Provisioning Profile

This profile is required in order for BMC AppZone to distribute the BMC AppZone Client.

Create a new application ID and profile, saved in .mobileprovision format, in order to complete your store configuration.

iOS Client Launch Icon

This icon is required in order to identify and launch the BMC AppZone Client on an iOS device.

To enter iOS configuration details

  1. From the BMC AppZone Administration Console, click Store.
    The Update Application Store Configuration page appears.
  2. In iOS Enterprise App Signing Certificate, upload your *.p12 file. 
  3. In Provisioning Profile Upload, upload the *.mobileprovision file. 
  4. In iOS Client launch icon Upload, upload the image file.
  5. Click Update to retain your settings.

Note

The icon image must have an aspect ratio of 1:1 and be 144 x 144 pixels.

To obtain the iOS Client

  1. Submit a ticket by contacting BMC Customer Support through your BMC AppZone Console or contacting pa-appzone_support@bmc.com
  2. BMC creates and signs an iOS version of the BMC AppZone Client, and adds it to the BMC AppZone Marketplace.
  3. You are notified that the iOS version of the BMC AppZone Client is now available.
  4. The installation link displays in the BMC AppZone Store (both the administrator and user views), and is available for inclusion in subsequent user invitations.

Note

If active users already exist for the store, then an email is automatically sent notifying the users that the iOS version of the BMC AppZone Client is available.
