Performing the Cloud Probe upgrade silently
You can install the BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring Software Edition Cloud Probe upgrade unattended (a silent upgrade), which requires no user interaction. You might use this type of upgrade process where you are pushing out the Cloud Probe to servers, or you want to upgrade the Cloud Probe on multiple systems. You can perform a silent upgrade, as described in this topic, or you can use the upgrade wizard.
The following topics describe how to set up and run a silent upgrade:
Before you begin
- Review the software and hardware system requirements for Cloud Probe.
- Download the upgrade files for the Real User Cloud Probe (Windows or Linux).
- To use the upgrade wizard, you must set up a DISPLAY environment. For details, refer to your operating system documentation.
Tip
For best results capturing end-user performance data, install the Cloud Probe on the host that provides load balancing services for an application. By binding the public interface used by the load balancing services, end-user transactions can be accurately measured and processed.
