Before the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server is installed, you must configure Oracle so that it can be used as the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server database by performing the following tasks:
BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server supports the following Oracle environments:
Your Oracle database administrator must create and configure the Oracle instances and schema objects required for Infrastructure Management.
Oracle must be installed and running as a basic database instance.
Oracle must be configured for remote SYSDBA connectivity.
SQLPlus or the Oracle Instance Client with SQLPlus option must be installed and configured on the computer in which the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server is installed. This is needed for validation, and to run the set_system_parameter_oracle_pnet.sql script. It is also convenient to control and access the database from the the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server during the installation process. Infrastructure Management does not require this client. For more information, see Creating an Oracle database instance for the Infrastructure Management Server.
The directory and the file system in which the Infrastructure Management tablespace and temporary tablespace database files are created is required. These files are created by the Infrastructure Management installer.
The listener for the Oracle database instance must be configured and running.

The Oracle database must be configured to use a system parameter file (SPFILE) to ensure persistent database system parameter settings. The set_system_parameter_oracle_pnet.sql script references the SPFILE file and displays error messages if the file does not exist
Ensure that the system tablespaces SYSTEM, SYSAUX have a minimum 2 GB of free space.
