Before upgrading the Presentation Server, ensure that you review and complete the following prerequisite activities and requirements.
tssh database startbackupcommand.
If you have custom security certificates for the internal communication between the Presentation Server and App Visibility Manager, ensure that your files are not overwritten by the upgrade process. See instructions "To replace security files for communication with the Presentation Server" in the topic.
Ensure to close all the files and folders opened in the current session as well as close other user sessions on the server before starting an upgrade.
Manually stop any components that are directly connected to the Presentation Server (for example, Infrastructure Management or App Visibility Manager).
While upgrading the Presentation Server from version 10.1 to 10.7, if your Single Sign-On (SSO) is in the High Availability (HA) mode, you must enter the SSO certificate details in the TrueSightPServerInstalledConfiguration.xml file. You must add the IS_SSO_Server_IN_HA_MODE and SSO_CERTIFICATE_HOME properties in the TrueSightPServerInstalledConfiguration.xml file. Perform the following action to add the properties:
Navigate to the Presentation Server installation directory.
Open the TrueSightPServerInstalledConfiguration.xml file, and add the following properties:
An example of the path to an SSO certificate could be C:\tmp\<SSO certificate name>.cer
Save the TrueSightPServerInstalledConfiguration.xml file.
If the Presentation Server is in the high-availability mode, do the following:
Stop the primary and secondary Presentation Server.
On both the primary and the secondary servers, do the following:
Tar or zip the TRUESIGHTPSERVER_HOME directory.
Ensure that the Presentation Server is running before starting the upgrade. If the Presentation Server is not running, start it by running the following command:
tssh server start(Linux)
./tssh server start
You must wait for the status of the Presentation Server to be Running before starting the upgrade process.
On Linux computers, add & at the end of the tssh server start command so that the process runs in the background and you can continue to use the shell.
Upgrade the Presentation Server using one of the following procedures:
