Troubleshooting parameter problems
Use the following table to aid in troubleshooting any problems that occur.
Problem | Cause/Solution |
---|---|
Standard parameter problems | |
Parameter does not return correct value. | Often, this problem is caused by the parameter command script set() function setting the wrong variable in the PATROL Agent namespace. |
Collector parameter problems | |
Associated consumer parameter does not return correct value. | Often, this problem is caused by the parameter command script set() function setting the wrong variable in the PATROL Agent namespace. |
Consumer parameter problems | |
Parameter does not instantiate. | Almost all consumer parameter problems are really problems with the parameter's collector. |
Recovery action problems | |
Recovery action does not work. | Recovery action is a PSL command type but has its command type set to OS. Check command type first when a recovery action does not work. |
OS recovery action does not execute. | Every OS recovery action executes under the PATROL Agent user account--named patrol by default. If this PATROL Agent user account does not belong to the group authorized to perform application-related actions, the recovery actions fail. |
