User response: Check to see that the definition member named name exists in the data set defined on the BBSECURE DD statement. If the member exists, contact BMC Customer Support with any information available from the list shown in Message BBCAAA.

User response: Press ENTER to return to the SERDEF or SERDEFD view and continue editing. Issue the CANcel command to end the edit lock and discard any changes. To see a list of available commands, issue the SHOWAct command in the COMMAND field and press ENTER.

BBMYA209

Edit mode not active; command ignored


Explanation: An attempt has been made to add, change, delete, disable, or enable a security resource definition, but the edit lock has not been obtained. The EDIT command must be issued on the SERDEF or SERDEFD view to obtain the edit lock before another command can be issued. The command is not processed.

User response: Issue the EDIT command in the COMMAND field to obtain the edit lock and then issue another valid command. To see a list of available commands, issue the SHOWAct command in the COMMAND field and press ENTER.

BBMYA210

Save failed for the resource definition


Explanation: An attempt has been made to save changes to a security resource definition on the SERDEF or SERDEFD view but the save failed. Additional messages are displayed and the member is not saved.

Explanation: The SERDEF view was requested for display but no security resource definition member suffix was specified. This information indicates that the SERDEF view will be displayed with the default security resource definition named name. This message appears and the SERDEF view is displayed with the data from the default member named name.

User response: No action is required, unless the data from a different security definition member is required. To display the information from a specific security definition member:

  • Reissue the SERDEF view command with the member suffix specified as:

    SERDEF SUFFIX(nn)

    where nn is the security resource definition member suffix you want to display.

  • Type SERDEFL and type an E next to the one you want. You can also type an A and overtype the suffix for a new member.

Explanation: The DD BBSECURE must be allocated to the PAS to read and write security resource definitions. Editing can not continue.

User response: Allocate a data set and update the PAS JCL to use this dataset for the BBSECURE definition members. It can be shared with the CAS. Then restart the PAS.

Parameter member Member is missing; will use defaults


Explanation: The member Member is not in the BBSECURE data set. If editing continues, the product supplied defaults will be used as a starting place for editing. Continue with product supplied defaults.

User response: If this is the first EDIT of this member, this is normal. If this member is supposed to be present, figure out why it is not, and either allocate the correct data set to BBSECURE in the PAS or copy the member. Then restart the PAS.

Explanation: The member Member is already being edited by another user. Since the EDIT lock can not be obtained, editing will not continue. Browse mode is substituted.
