Overall VSAM Optimization processing option

With the Overall VSAM Optimization processing option, you can specify the overall optimization mode that Data Optimizer should use for VSAM data sets. These Optimization modes are similar to those for the Optimization mode option except they allow you to select the optimization mode specifically for VSAM processing from other processing.

With the Overall VSAM Optimization processing option, you can allow both BASIC optimization of VSAM processing and ADVANCED non-VSAM processing. By default, optimization of VSAM processing is at the same level as all other processing. Overall VSAM Optimization mode consists of the following mutually exclusive options: ADVANCED, BASIC and NONE.
