Integrating with Workday

HR Service Management integrates seamlessly with Workday. Out of the box, ready-to-use HR services are provided in the HR Portal that can be used when you integrate with Workday.

The following HR services are available for Workday:

  • Employee Verification
  • Change of Address
  • Change of Legal Name
  • Visa letter

Important

These services can also work independently without the Workday integration by using the internal record systems. When HR Service Management is integrated with Workday, the records in Workday are used.

To integrate with Workday, you must configure the Workday connection from BMC Helix Innovation Studio by completing the following actions:

Before you begin

Make sure you meet the following requirements:

Task 1: To configure Jitterbit

Contact your  Jitterbit Open link account representative to deploy and configure Workday operations on your Jitterbit instance.

Important

While configuring your Jitterbit instance, you must note the endpoint host name of the APIs. You must provide the host name when you configure HR Service Management to use Workday APIs.

Task 2: To create a Web API connection

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio as an administrator.
  2. On the Administration tab, expand Integrations.
  3. Select Web APIs > Web API connections.
  4. On the Web API connection page, click New.
  5. Specify the following details for the web API connection:

LoginSpecify the user name that is configured in the Jitterbit APIs.
PasswordSpecify the password that is configured in the Jitterbit APIs.

Task 3: To create the connection alias mapping

After the Web API connection is successfully saved, you must map that connection with the Call Jitterbit API connection from the BMC Sample Human Resource line of business.

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio as an administrator.
  2. On the Administration tab, expand Integrations.
  3. Select Web APIs > Web API mapping.
  4. On the Web API mapping page, select LOB - BMC Sample Human Resource from the applications.
The Connection target is by default selected as Jitterbit. This is the name of the connection that is defined for the Call Jitterbit API connection process and cannot be modified.
  5. Select the Connection configuration that you created.
