Self-service users (employees)

The UI of the BMC MyIT Universal Client Console (used to request an HR service) is localized. For the complete list of supported languages, see the Supported locales in BMC MyIT section in this topic.

The UI of BMC HR Case Management (used to request an HR service) is available in English only and is not localized.
Localized content is available in solutions and knowledge articles.

Localized content is available in solutions and knowledge articles. However, self-service users can see articles in all languages.

For example, if there are knowledge articles or solutions about "benefits" in English, French, and Japanese, self-service users can see the knowledge articles in all available languages —English, French, and Japanese.

To localize titles and messages in BMC MyIT

After you have navigated to the configuration window for a localizable area in BMC MyIT, you must provide the localized text for each locale. Follow this procedure for each area that you are localizing:

  1. From the BMC MyIT Administration Console (http://BMCMyITserver:port/ux/admin), open the applicable configuration window, as described in the Localizable areas and fields table in this topic.

  2. Select the locale for which you want to provide localized text, as shown in the following image:

    Note

For every title and message that you are localizing, first modify the text for the default locale.

If you are modifying the default text, you must also modify the text for all locales. The default text is shown on the user’s mobile device or computer, if text is not defined for the locale or the selected locale is not supported. For example, supported categories include text provided by BMC for all locales; users with a specified locale of English see the text for English. However, users with a specified locale of Hindi see the default text, because Hindi is not a supported locale.

  3. In the localizable fields, enter the localized text.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each language.
  5. Click Save.
