Viewing solutions

The knowledge base contains a list of all the available solutions. The system administrator can segregate the solutions based on different solution categories. This makes it easier to locate the preferred solution quickly. For example, you might want a solution for Microsoft Outlook under the Software category. You can navigate through the Category browser and select Software, select Microsoft Outlook and then view the preferred solution. Alternatively, you can view a solution from the Knowledge Base home page. You must enable the category browser to view the solutions in a quick way.

To enable the Category browser to view solutions

  1. Click More and select Knowledge Base.
    The Knowledge Base Home page appears.
  2. Click Customize.
  3. On the Knowledge Base console, click the Views tab.
  4. Select Category Browser and drag it to the right-hand pane near the My Knowledge Bases tab.
  5. From the Category Tree list, select a knowledge base category.
  6. From the View Mode list, select the required view.
  7. Click Save.
    You must login to FootPrints application again to access the Category browser tab.

To view the solution from the Category Browser

  1. On the Knowledge Base console, click the Category Browser tab.
    A list of available solution categories appears.
  2. Double-click on a preferred solution category. 
  3. Double-click the appropriate solution to view it.

To view the solution from the Knowledge Base Home page

  1. Click More, and select Knowledge Base.
    The  Knowledge Base Home page appears.
  2. On the My Knowledge Bases page, select an appropriate solution, and click View.
