For complete definitions of release numbering, release terminology, and support levels, see the BMC Software Product Support Policy.

Change of support lifecycle dates

This note is an early notification for BMC Discovery customers of a change in the lifecycle dates for certain versions that will be an exception to the general BMC support policy. Obsolescence of 3rd party components included in the following versions requires the acceleration of end of limited support:

  • BMC Discovery v11.1 end of version support is now aligned to v11.0. Limited support for v11.0 and v11.1 ends on March 3, 2021
  • BMC Atrium Discovery v10.x end of version support is now aligned to v10.0. Limited support for BMC Discovery v10.0, v10.1 and v10.2 ended on March 18, 2019.

BMC Discovery 11.0 documentation

When a product enters limited support:

  • New enhancements are not made to that version of the product. For reported issues, BMC Software Customer Support directs customers to existing fixes, patches and workarounds.
  • New Technology Knowledge Update (TKU) releases are not available for that version of the product.

During the time of limited support, BMC Software strongly encourages users of the respective versions of the product to upgrade to the latest current version.

Upgrading to newer product version and migration path

The following table lists the migration path to upgrade to the latest BMC Discovery version from your current version and provides the corresponding documentation links:

End of version support

When a version of BMC Discovery reaches the "End of version support" stage, it means that you can access most technical documentation, known resolutions and workarounds, existing patches and Service Packs, and BMC support communities will remain available where applicable. However no new sustaining maintenance releases, enhancements, patches, or hot fixes will be made to that version or release. BMC Customer Support will recommend that you upgrade to a more current version, release, or service pack of the product.

The following table shows the most recent versions in the end of version support stage, lists the requirements to upgrade to version 11.3 from these earlier versions, and provides the corresponding documentation links.
