This documentation refers to a previously released version of BMC Discovery.
See the information on this topic for the latest version (11.2) or version 11.1.

You can upgrade to BMC Discovery 11.0 from the following versions of BMC Discovery:

  • 10.2.0.0, 10.2.0.1, 10.2.0.2, and 10.2.0.3.

You can upgrade to BMC Discovery 11.0.0.1 (patch 1) from the versions above, and the following versions of BMC Discovery:

  • 10.1.0.3
  • 10.2.0.4
  • 11.0

You can upgrade to BMC Discovery 11.0.0.2 (patch 2) from all of the versions above, and the following versions of BMC Discovery:

  • 10.1.0.4
  • 10.2.0.5
  • 11.0.0.1

You can upgrade to BMC Discovery 11.0.0.3 (patch 3) from all of the versions above, and the following version of BMC Discovery:

  • 11.0.0.2

When upgrading from 9.x to 10.1 and from there to 11.0, 11.0.0.1, or 11.0.0.2 you do not need to change your deployment architectures.

BMC recommends that you upgrade using your existing architecture and test version 11.0 in a known configuration. If testing reveals that you require the performance improvements offered by a cluster, you can add hardware and replace one or more version 11.0 machines with a cluster. For more information about upgrading to version 11.0, see Upgrading to version 11.0.
