BMC Discovery Technology Knowledge Update 2017-Oct-2 is a deliverable for BMC Atrium Discovery 10.1, 10.2 and BMC Discovery 11.0, 11.1, 11.2 series.
TKU 2017-Oct-2 is a re-release of Technology Knowledge Update October 2017 which fixes major TKU issue: "NVD can create an ECA when it triggers on a host with an integer for a service pack" (DRDC1-10119) . This issue was identified in the original TKU for October 2017 release.
If you have already installed the original version of the Technology Knowledge Update for October 2017, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade your TKU to this re-release and then remove the previous version from the appliance.
Product content updates require appliance restart
This TKU release contains product content additions. When product content is added, the appliance is restarted as part of the update. You are given the opportunity to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.
HostContainers name attribute update
For TKU October 2017 Serial Number value was added to the name attribute for Host Containers like: Oracle Exadata, IBM POWER System, Solaris LDOMS . Current change will make Host Containers name unique and consistent overall in Discovery.
CMDB Sync mapping update
TKU 2017-Oct-2 is released in the following streams:
