Defects Resolved

The following defects have been fixed in BMC Atrium Discovery Technology Knowledge Update 2013-Dec-1

Case No Defect No Details Product Page
ISS04190061 QM001804866 Problem: CMDB sync patterns that map some Atrium Discovery node attributes to Atrium CMDB CI sometimes does not set unique enough values for ADDM RE Identification Rules to identify these. This regularly ends up in Duplicated CIs problems for BMC_ApplicationService CIs. Solution: TokenId is now populated for BMC_ApplicationService CIs with unique enough values.

Atrium Discovery System patterns

ISS04196964 QM001806429 The approach that Microsoft SQL Server extended database pattern takes to obtain database size has been improved in order to increase likelihood of successfully obtaining the version information when configured by the user to do so

Microsoft SQL Server

ISS04209821 QM001808554 Problem: EMC Networker pattern can in certain circumstances be creating large numbers (thousands) of relationships between EMC Networker Client and EMC Networker Server SIs on different hosts. The searches performed by the pattern in order to create these relationships can cause performance issues. Updates in common function library in TKU November 2013 have improved the situation but further improvements are required. Solution: Code update. Further refinement to the algorithm to decrease the number of searches required to obtain the relevant information

EMC NetWorker

ISS04218845 QM001809823 Problem: BMC AR Server pattern can erroneously identify commented-out database server details in the AR config files as the information about which database server SI it should create a relationship with Solution: Code fix. Commented-out database server information in the config files is now ignored.

BMC Remedy AR System

ISS04191659 QM001810220 Problem: IBM DB2 RDBMS pattern fails to detect multiple instances of DB2 RDBMS running from the same location on the Windows platform and instead models them as a single instance. Solution: Code refactor. IBM DB2 RDBMS pattern code that performs discovery of the product on Windows platform considerably updated and separated out into a new pattern. SI key of the IBM RDBMS DB2 pattern for discovery on both UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms also updated as part of the refactor process

IBM DB2 RDBMS

ISS04214310 QM001810225 Problem: Oracle Coherence SI may include version information in the 'name' attribute but not in the 'version' and 'product_version' attributes Solution: Code fix. Changes have also necessitated updating the SI key generated by the pattern.

Oracle Coherence

ISS04209905 QM001810860 Problem: Oracle Internet Directory pattern exits with an ECA error if the product is discovered on a host that has been accessed via SNMP only Solution: Code fix.

Oracle Internet Directory

ISS04230625 QM001812346 Problem: IBM General Parallel FileSystem pattern fails to obtain version information using the active command approach Solution: Code fix.

IBM General Parallel FileSystem

\- \#TKU-1998 Problem: IBM Lotus Expeditor Server pattern fails to create a relationship to Oracle Database Server SI following recent changes to the Oracle Database Server pattern Solution: Code fix.

IBM Lotus Expeditor

\- \#TKU-2000 \\ \#TKU-2001 Oracle VM VirtualBox patterns have had redundant code (used in Atrium Discovery 8.2) removed and an incorrect search definition in ConsolidateFromSI pattern fixed.

Oracle VM VirtualBox

\- \#TKU-2013 Problem: IBM InfoSphere DataStage pattern will not create 'version' and 'product_version' attributes in certain cases. Solution: Code fix. The pattern will now always create these attributes (even if they may be set to an empty string) as per convention

IBM InfoSphere DataStage

\- \#TKU-2019 Problem: Code in Revitas CARS pattern that searches for installed software components is case sensitive which prevents certain software components to be detected Solution: Code fix.

Revitas CARS

\- \#TKU-2021 Problem: Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall uses Oracle RDBMS version mapping table to convert full version information into product (marketing) version. This is incorrect as the mapping of versions for this product is not the same. Solution: Code fix.

Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall

\- \#TKU-2027 Problem: Microsoft Lync Server Front-End pattern will create a relationship to appropriate Microsoft SQL Server SI only if the edition of Microsoft Lync Server Front-End SI is set to 'Standard' Solution: Code fix. Restriction on particular edition removed.

Microsoft Lync Server
