Symantec Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows - Change History

2009

TKU June 2009

In June 2009 TKU, based on customer feedback, we added an additional package name which can be used to identify and version the product

TKU August 2009

In August TKU we fixed a bug, and we are now allowing for correct deletion of the License Nodes and DMP DSM Nodes which are no longer available.

TKU October 2009

In TKU October we standardized the Licensing Details to comply with the new Licensing model guidelines. This implied a change in they key, type, name, and many more additional attributes. These new attributes can easily be reported on by following the sample Reports in the relevant page.

TKU November 2009

In TKU November four bug fixes were made:

  • Version 5.1 is not reported as such in the product version, previously it was reported as version 5.10
  • The package versioning regular expression was updated so it more accurately reflects the package name for older versions of the product
  • The package versioning was improved for instances where several packages match the regular expressions. Now the pattern will always take version information from the package with the greatest version.
  • The section_version regex of ' Version\s*=\s*(.*)\s* ' has been changed to ' Version\s*=\s*(\d+(?:\.\d+)*)\s* ' to avoid unnecessary space characters after version.

2010

TKU April 2010

In TKU April an issue that was introduced in TKU October 2009 with the introduction of Detail Nodes was resolved. The initial implementation of storage of license information on Detail Nodes did not create the Detail Node key which was unique enough which could lead to information about multiple licenses linked to a product being lost. The way the Detail Node key is generated has been improved in the update to the pattern.
Aditionally, parsing of output of license command for CPU count was improved - any trailing spaces removed from the value obtained (and therefore no longer in 'allowed_cpus' Detail Node attribute).

TKU June 2010

In TKU June an issue that was introduced in TKU April 2010 with the parsing of output of license command for CPU count which would cause failure to parse the CPU count was resolved.

TKU August 2010

In TKU August 2010 there were some slight changes to prevent race conditions that could occur when the Software Instance was searched for before it was added to the datastore

2014 and later

TKU Nov 2014

In TKU Nov 2014, the Symantec VERITAS Volume Replicator pattern now creates a Symantec VERITAS Volume Replicator SI for Windows, which should be licensed separately.

TKU November 2018

In TKU November 2018 we improved how we find license information
