BMC Discovery Technology Knowledge Update 2017-Oct-2 contains the following additional product content for BMC Discovery 11.2 series:

Product content updates require appliance restart

When product content is added, the appliance is restarted as part of the update. You are given the opportunity to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.


Feature updates

Support for the following Amazon Web Services (AWS) services has been added:

  • Amazon Elastic File System (EFS)
    Including linkage from the cloud FileSystem nodes to any mounts. AWS EFS uses NFS and consequently only supports UNIX mounts.
  • A new availability_zones attribute is created and populated on the following AWS node kinds:
    • Deployment
    • Load Balancer Service
    • Software Cluster
    • Software Instance
    • Storage Volume
    • Virtual Machine

Discovery of the following Microsoft Azure services is now supported:

  • Azure Database for PostgreSQL

  • Azure Database for MySQL
  • Azure Files storage
    The Azure Storage Files modules now contain additional patterns to link the cloud FileSystems where they are mounted
  • The Azure subscription ID is now used to create and populate a new subscription_id attribute on the following node kinds:
    • Admin Collection
    • Collection
    • File System
    • Load Balancer Member
    • Load Balancer Pool
    • Load Balancer Service
    • Software Instance
    • Storage Volume
    • Virtual Machine
      Where they are used to model Azure services such as, VMs, scalesets, load balancers, resource groups, virtual networks, volumes, file systems, and software instances representing SQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL database servers.
