On this page we will take a closer look at the HP OpenView ServiceCenter pattern.

HP OpenView ServiceCenter

With TKU January you can now fully model instances of HP OpenView ServiceCenter including the Server, the Event Queue Monitor, the Automation Daemon, the Web Tier and various Monitoring Processes for fax, pager, mailer, SMTP and AMPI.

Note that:

  • You can obtain full version and build information
  • You can obtain details of the licenses, including expiry date and number of licensed users, and the licensed modules

HP OpenView ServiceCenter Server in a Visualization view

Communication links are automatically created between the server and its various clients: the Event Queue Monitor, the Automation Daemon and the Web Tier. The Web Tier will automatically discover which server it is linked to, even if it is on a different host. The screenshot below shows typical communication links.

The Automation Daemon is linked not just to the Server, but also to the Oracle database it uses. It discovers the latter by parsing the sc.ini file. The screenshot below shows typical communication links:
